Amy “Guts” Gutman is pleased to join the Department of Emergency Medicine Special Operations Division as the EMS Fellow. Dr Gutman has extensive experience in prehospital medicine, including over twenty years in Fire Rescue as an EMT-I and assistant Medical Director in the United States and Caribbean. Dr Gutman joins UC after working as an EM Physician Assistant in Portland ME, two years of a General Surgery residency in Cooperstown NY, and completing her EM residency at LSU Shreveport where she served as Chief Resident. She has presented EMS research at the national level, and has been awarded the NAEMSP award for Best Cardiac Arrest Research, and the SAEM award for Best Resident Research. Her prehospital interests are in clinical research and Operational EMS. Her personal interests include exploring the Arts, dining scene, and dog parks around the Cincinnati area with her husband Michael, who works as a registered nurse in the UC Emergency Department.
