M. Stephen Baxter, MD

Dr. Baxter completed his undergraduate work at Ohio State University in 1985 receiving a degree in biochemistry, and pursued his MD at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He attended the Residency program at the University of Cincinnati, where he served as Chief Resident in his last year.
Dr. Baxter joined the faculty as associate residency director and assistant professor after completion of his residency training. He then assumed the role of residency director, serving in this capacity from 1995 until 2003. Dr. Baxter has performed research investigating cardiac serum markers. He also has been active as a regional coordinator for the CPC competitions at SAEM and as a judge for the final CPC competition at ACEP.
In addition to his duties within the department, Dr. Baxter is course director for the second-year medical student course Clinical Foundations in Medical Practice-2 here at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He also teaches as a small group facilitator in the first-year medical student course CFMP-1. Dr. Baxter can be contacted by email at baxterms@ucmail.uc.edu
