Dr. Lyons completed his undergraduate work at Northwestern University receiving a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, and pursued his MD at Duke University. He completed an Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati where he also served as Chief Resident, graduating in 2002.
Dr. Lyons is currently pursuing his dual interests in Observation Medicine and Emergency Department centered public health and prevention. More specifically, he has been appointed Director of the Rapid Diagnostic and Treatment Center with a goal of expanding medical practice, research, and education as they relate to observation care. In addition, he serves as medical director of the highly successful HIV Early Intervention Program which seeks to counsel patients who are at-risk for contracting HIV and to identify infected patients as early as possible. Dr. Lyons anticipates that these programs will expand broadly and lead to multiple areas of funded research. |
