Alexander T Trott, MD

Dr. Trott has been a faculty member of The Department of Emergency Medicine for nearly 20 years. In addition to being professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine, Dr. Trott serves as Director of the Clinical Practice Improvement Unit, and Associate Chief of Staff at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Hospital. He is also Director of Clinical Resource Management and Associate Medical Director for CRM for the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, and holds other clinical and administrative appointments.
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Dr. Trott performed an internship in internal medicine, one year in Radiology, and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine also at UC. His career began as Director of the Emergency Department at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati, two years before he came to University Hospital.
Dr. Trott has received the Bogen Research Reward (1972), SAEM Best Educational Research (1993), the Golden Apple Best Teacher Emergency Medicine (1994) and was nominated for the UC College of Medicine Distinguished Professor award (1996). He has been a member of several national and local committees for both the clinical and academic advancement of Emergency Medicine, and is reviewer for several academic journals. Academically, he has published three texts on wound care, as primary author, and co-edited and contributed to numerous other texts. As a researcher, he has done research in the field of infectious disease and wound care, and has published numerous journal articles and abstracts. |
